For Donna Girardot, executive officer of the
Wilmington Cape Fear Home Builders Association, this expo is a way to
care for the associations clients. As the largest trade association in
eastern North Carolina, the association represents more than 1,000
member-firms and acts as the voice of the building and development
industries in the region.
She said many of the recently retired
or almost retired are drawn to the relaxed, slower-paced lifestyle the
area offers. The beaches, the riverfront in downtown Wilmington, the
moderate climate, the variety of restaurants and shopping all factor
into a retirees decision to move to the Cape Fear region.
A lot
of (retirees) move here and start new careers, volunteer, open new
businesses, she said. They are a great benefit.Girardot sees the 50+
Coastal Lifestyles Expo as a way to reach out to this invaluable client
base, showing them all that the region has available to them. The expo
will include seminars and workshops. Exhibitors will also be on hand to
educate visitors on products and services.
Dan Braswell, owner
of Granite Transformations at 391 N. Green Meadows Drive in Wilmington,
plans to display backsplashes, countertops and highlight the numerous
color possibilities to makeover your kitchen or bathroom. Braswell, 61,
said more than 90 percent of his business comes from clients over 50 who
are looking to remodel an older family home or are investing in a
recently purchased house.

Conference Centre, alongside several of his ministers, senior figures in
the oil and gas industry, and representatives of Aberdeen City Council

Mozambique
has seen a remarkable turn-around in fortunes in recent years and is

country's oil and gas sector is expected to experience substantial
development in the next few years following the recent discoveries of
important gas reserves in the Rovuma basin, near the border with
Tanzania. The onshore Panda and Temane gas fields have proven reserves
of 3.5trillion cubic feet and major operators such as Petronas, ENI,
Statoil and Anadarko are already engaged in exploration, both onshore
and offshore.
Mozambique has come forward strongly over the past
three years as one of the most important new areas of offshore gas
development in the world. It is estimated that it will have the third
largest gas reserves in the world and is attracting significant interest
from UK companies.The country is looking to follow Aberdeen's lead in
harnessing and developing the industry, while building the
infrastructure to cope with the anticipated boom.

Guebuza will undertake a number of visits including to the Town House
to meet with the Lord Provost and Enterprise, Planning and

Training Academy; and the University of Aberdeen.
The
conference, hosted by Aberdeen City Council and the High Commission of
the Republic of Mozambique, aims to arouse the interest of British and
international business communities on the huge investment potential in
the development of logistics infrastructure for oil and gas in
Mozambique.It also aims to serve as a platform for Mozambican companies
to improve their knowledge of business opportunities in the oil and gas
industry, attract investment and tap into the UK's wealth of skills and
expertise.
