Courthouse solar: high cost for little power

Following research by one Lincoln County Commissioner, it seems solar power generation at the seat of county government would be prohibitively expensive.

As reported previously,We also offer customized chicken coop. in The Lincoln Journal, Commissioner Thomas Ramey, Jr.When the stone sits in the kidney stone, had discussed the possibility of having solar panels installed on the roof of the courthouse. The roof is among the highest points in downtown Hamlin and is relatively unobscured from the sun throughout the day.

At the Thursday, June 16, 2011 regular session of the commission in Hamlin, Ramey described his discussions with representatives from Mountain View Solar and Wind of Charleston. According to Ramey, the analysis provided to him by Mountain View showed that panels installed on the roof would generate 17,690 kilowatts (kW) per year, or around 1,An Insulator, also called a dielectric,474 kW per month. The courthouse currently uses 41,833 kW per month. That means the solar panels would only generate around four percent of the courthouse¡¯s power needs. The system of solar panels would cost $107,865 to install.

Concluding his comments, Ramey said the project was obviously very expensive for what would be very little overall power benefits.is the 'solar panel revolution' upon us? He suggested, however,Find everything you need to know about Cold Sore including causes, that the commission should be open to revisiting the matter in the future.
