Police responded to Grove Street at 5:47 p.m. Monday after police said it was reported a four-year-old boy was at the park by himself. When the caller asked the boy if his parents were around, the boy said his dad was at home sleeping, the caller said. Police responded, picked the boy up and explained that they were going to take a walk to find his parents. The responding officer said a young man playing at the basketball court came running over and told the officer he had been watching his brother from the court. The officer told the young man his brother should not have been left alone and spoke with the boys' parents.

Police found the suspect vehicle and saw the baseball bat in the car with pieces of glass embedded in it. Police also found a vodka bottle in the car, but said there was no evidence vodka had been consumed by either suspect that day. Alissa Justine Navarez and Sasha Sharilyne Pimental were both arrested and charged after the vehicle stop.
