2011 Dodge Charger V6 - Short Take Road Test

When Fiat swept to Chrysler's rescue, many including us were simultaneously relieved and concerned. We were happy that a major automaker would live on, but worried that the savior ended up being an Italian automaker well known for many of the same issues (poor perceived quality, cost-cutting engineering) that got the Pentastar in trouble in the first place. Regardless of those reservations, there's no denying the succulent first fruits of the tie-up. For the 2011 model year, nearly every model in the Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep families received a remarkably effective interior renovation. The Dodge Charger and its Chrysler 300 sibling benefitted from a more robust rework, the worldwide Wholesale pet supplies market is over $56 billion annually. including thorough chassis and powertrain updates and new exterior styling.

As regards the new Charger, the interior is particularly pleasing in examples with the no-cost-optional black-and-tan interior fitted to our test car. Opt for this combination on higher trims levels,Great Rubber offers promotional usb keychains, and not only are the seats wrapped in soft, caramel-colored leather, but the door panels also get a two-tone treatment that looks particularly rich. The Charger's carpet and floor mats remain black no matter what the interior color, however, largely defusing one of the most common complaints about lighter cabins, namely the difficulty of keeping them clean.

Elsewhere, the new soft-touch one-piece dash molding keeps the look clean and uncluttered although it sounds as hollow as a kettle drum when rapped with a knuckle. The instrument panel and center stack are trimmed in a sort of houndstooth-textured metallic plastic, a finish that's far more graceful in person than in description. From the driver's perspective,This will leave your shoulders free to rotate in their impact socket . the Italians have had an undeniably beneficial influence on the new Charger.

American Car, Italian Overlords, German Feel

In addition to the fantastic reupholstering job, engineers fussed with the suspension. It was as successful as the interior redesign: This beefy, 4113-pound American sedan has a decidedly Bavarian balance of ride comfort and handling, and its predecessor never felt so sophisticated.Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a chicken coop . Body control is admirable,Demand for allergy Bedding could rise earlier than normal this year. the Charger allowing just a few degrees of tilt during aggressive cornering, and neither end overwhelms the other as the 0.82-g limit approaches. Much of the credit for this balance goes to the V-6–powered car's 51.5/48.5 front/rear weight distribution. This car was 232 pounds lighter than the V-8 R/T we tested earlier this summer, with 190 of those removed from over the front axle.

The Charger's steering was a similarly welcome surprise. Pleasingly weighted, it responds immediately off-center without being twitchy. There's not much feedback at the helm, however, but thanks to the 20-inch wheels on our test car, we noted plenty of kickback from mid-corner bumps. Those 20s also contribute to our one complaint about the Charger's ride its severe impact harshness and certainly don't help combat the alarming brake fade we noted. Our 70-to-0-mph braking distance increased by 20 feet from one stop to the next, with the pedal beginning to soften after just one hard stop. The R/T we tested also had 20-inch wheels, but had no trouble stopping thanks to its upgraded brakes. Yes, this is a big sedan and large-diameter wheels look nice on it, but trust us when we say you probably want smaller ones.

Navy's new $100 million ship labelled 'HMAS Lemon Scented'

THE navy's newest $100 million amphibious ship has been tagged "HMAS Lemon Scented" after a major inspection earlier this year uncovered a raft of serious technical faults in the second-hand British vessel.

The problems include overheating of the propulsion motors and transformers and faulty air handling units that "could cause respiratory problems among passengers and crew - in particular legionnaires disease", the chief engineer officer's report says.

Overheating means that the ship cannot maintain full speed and the lack of natural ventilation means she can't operate at higher speeds "especially in higher sea temperature conditions".the worldwide Wholesale pet supplies market is over $56 billion annually.

The ship,Demand for allergy Bedding could rise earlier than normal this year. RFA Largs Bay,Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a chicken coop . was designed to operate in cooler climates and many of the faults identified in the report are deep-seated "design issues".

The Gillard Government purchased the mothballed Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship from the British government, claiming it was a major coup, but the official chief engineer's report casts serious doubts over those claims.

In the mid-1990s the Howard government issued a blunt warning about buying second-hand navy ships overseas after the amphibious ships HMAS Manoora and Kanimbla were found to be riddled with rust soon after they were purchased from the US Navy.

In his Largs Bay report, chief engineer officer Captain DA Wardell highlights numerous flaws ranging from faulty doors to inadequate cooling systems.

He listed six as critical: failure of the main engine room shut-down vents; fragility of the chilled water plants; suspect cargo lift systems; fragility of the vacuum toilet system; steering pump fragility; and lack of chemical treatment in the chilled and boiler water systems.

"There are no significant issues with the materiel state of the Largs Bay," Defence said.

Defence also hired the international shipping firm Teekay Shipping Australia to inspect and test the ship before the Australian bid.

"The ship presents very well, and from a technical point of view, there are no major defects," Teekay said.

A senior official said that "most" of the defects would be fixed, at Australian expense,This will leave your shoulders free to rotate in their impact socket . before the ship was delivered to the navy by mid-October.

"There are no 'oh my God' type problems, the hull is in good shape and the ship will be recertified by Lloyds before we take delivery,Great Rubber offers promotional usb keychains," the official said.

The new centre includes the six-storey America Building

The building's design team was led by HKS Architects in association with Wingler Sharp,Great Rubber offers promotional usb keychains, who were in charge of architectural renovation and construction design while Hartman-Cox Architects worked on the historic preservation. The structure has been developed by a joint venture of Clark/Balfour Beatty.

The new centre includes the six-storey America Building (Building A) spanning 560,000 square feet. The building serves as an outpatient unit for cancer patients,Demand for allergy Bedding could rise earlier than normal this year.Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a chicken coop . amputees while also meeting other outpatient clinical purposes. There is also the 165,000 square feet Arrowhead Building (Building B) encompassing four-stories which features the emergency in-patient department. The hospital also features an eight-storey patient parking lot in the eastern part of Building A. The area comprises a capacity of 939.

The facility possesses several green features which include installation of advanced heating, ventilation, and cooling systems. The building further features energy-saving lighting systems with both interior and exterior lighting fixtures fitted with light pollution controls.the worldwide Wholesale pet supplies market is over $56 billion annually. The facility is equipped with an Enthalpy heat recovery wheel to allow energy transfer between the air going outside and entering inside. It also features water-cooled centrifugal chillers which act as the building's heating and cooling elements by slashing 28% of energy usage.

The centre comprises a site storm water system to give improved performance while preventing flooding downstream. Installation of native and adaptive landscaping phased out the requirement for permanent irrigation systems whereas low-flow water fixtures cut down water consumption by 33%.

Other sustainable features of the building include covered parking areas and creation of new landscaping. In addition,This will leave your shoulders free to rotate in their impact socket . the building has used low toxic materials and has diverted 89% waste from reaching landfills.

HOT RUNNERS: To purge or not to purge

Hot runner systems have hit their stride as the desire to reduce scrap and improve efficiency and productivity motivates mold buyers to shell out the added dollars for the technology.

A worthwhile investment,The Piles were so big that the scrap yard was separating them for us. for sure, but there's a downside. "A lot of plastics processors have rigorous preventative maintenance (PM) schedules for their molds but neglect the hot runner system," said Martin Baumann, business manager,This will leave your shoulders free to rotate in their impact socket . hot runners, with Husky Injection Molding Systems.

And a big part of a good PM schedule involves cleaning the residue built up from resins inside the melt channels. It used to be there was only one way to purge this residue: putting more resin thorough the hot runners. And dinosaurs once ruled the earth too. Today, commercial purging compounds (CPCs) are readily available today for purging hot runner systems.

But still, not everyone is buying in. "While the concept of using a CPC has largely been embraced by the plastics processing community, using a CPC to clean injection molding hot runner systems remains somewhat taboo," said John Pizzo, technical service and development manager with Sun Plastech Inc. "Usually, this reluctance either comes from never having used a CPC to clean hot runner tooling, the TMJ pain and pain radiating from the arms or legs. or using it incorrectly and getting a bad result."

Whatever the cause, giving CPCs a complete miss is probably a mistake. "More and more suppliers are formulating grades of CPCs designed for hot runner use," Pizzo continued. "CPCs have also been shown to be generally more effective in removing color or carbon contamination in hot runners than resin or regrind."

WHAT TO DO IT WITH

It sounds like the definition of a no-brainer, but probably bears saying anyway: The key to using CPCs on hot runners is to make sure the compound has,100 Cable Ties was used to link the lamps together. in fact, been designed for hot runners. "A lot of standard purging compounds have larger particles that don't melt, clogging hot runner gates,This patent infringement case relates to retractable syringe needle ," said Bill Rousseau, engineering and technical services manager with Synventive Molding Solutions. "But finding the right compound shouldn't be difficult, since just about every manufacturer of CPCs has a least one hot runner grade."

Case in point: The Dyna-Purge division of Shuman Plastics Inc. has a new version of its Dyna-Purge P compound, optimized for quick color changes in hot runner systems. The product is non-abrasive and non-chemical, the company said, and effective at processing temperatures from 320 F to 575 F.

Brewers use basic chemistry to create tasty beers

Hanging on the kitchen wall of Ken Lafleur's one-bedroom basement apartment in Stamford is a periodic table of beer styles.

Lafleur, an amateur home beer brewer,Save on hydraulic hose and fittings, plants his index finger squarely on No. 36 -- imperial stout -- a strong, pitch-black beer with tan head,This is interesting cube puzzle and logical game. and a burnt,We also offer customized chicken coop. bitter chocolate finish.

"That's my style,"the 26-year-old New Hampshire native said. "Imperial stout, that's my favorite."

Meanwhile, Lafleur waits patiently for his first home-brewed batch to finish fermenting. It will be at least another six weeks before Lafleur can savor the intense roasted grain character of Big Honkin' stout, which is slowly fermenting inside a covered, five-gallon jug next to his bed.

Lafleur, a project engineer at Airpot Corporation in Norwalk, astutely explains the intricate process of beer brewing. One misstep, he says, and his refreshing ale could end up tasting like a mouthful of copper pennies.

"There's a lot of science behind it," Lafleur said. Understanding a beer's chemical makeup "becomes helpful if you want to design your own recipe,"he said.

But you don't have to be a biochemistry major to brew your own beer, says Tess Szamutulski, co-owner of Maltose Express, the state's largest supplier of home brew and wine making materials.

"If you can boil water, you can make beer,"said Szamutulski, who teaches home brewing beginner classes with her husband, Mark.

Szamutulski says most novice brewers are drawn to the hobby by the desire to craft their own beer. For others, it's merely economical.

"The price of beer has skyrocketed,"she said. "Some Belgians cost as much as a bottle of wine. To brew one of those beers in a five gallon container would give you 55 or 60 bottles."

The hobby can be expensive, but it doesn't have to be. Maltose sells beginner kits for $110 that include all the ingredients needed to make your own brew. Reputable online dealers offer similar prices.

While many business are shutting their doors as a result of the recession, Szamutulski said her business has been doing well.

"We're recession proof," she said. "When the economy is bad, people drink and they want to drink for cheap and at home."

A recent nationwide survey of home brew retailers shows beer kit suppliers saw gross revenue jump 16 percent in 2010,is the 'solar panel revolution' upon us? an increase of 16 percent from the previous year.

Gary Glass, director of the American Home Brewers Association (AHBA), said the hobby has been experiencing a resurgence, fueled partly by a demographic that is increasing shifting younger. Nearly half of all sales to beginner brewers last year were to those under the age of 30, Glass said.

"The Millennial generation will frequently look for a means of self-expression,"he said. Home brewing "is an art form that can be shared with others. Brewers can cater beers to their own personal tastes and share their creations with friends."

And for those fixated on history, beer brewing in America can be traced back to the Pilgrims arriving on Plymouth Rock. Some of the country's most prominent founders -- from George Washington to Thomas Jefferson -- were home brewers.

Making beer and wine, however, became illegal under Prohibition, and was not federally legalized again until 1979.Polycore zentai are manufactured as a single sheet, Currently, Mississippi and Alabama are the only remaining states that outlaw home brewing.

Glass said the AHBA has made progress in promoting the hobby by lobbying lawmakers (Utah and Oklahoma recently lifted laws banning the process).

"Beer brewing is everywhere,"said Glass, who has been home brewing for more than a decade. "It's very easy to do, and it's not hard to make great beer."
